Mara Miller discovered her passion for writing romance in her mid-twenties after a stressful divorce and no real direction. Writing has been a part of Mara’s life since her pre-teens, but writing romance gave her a direction she didn’t know she needed to move in until she finished Cheap Guitars. Although she loves writing about strong modern heroines and harder country boys, she also dabbles in other romance sub-genres with vampires or time travel. She received her degrees in Anthropology and English from Eastern Kentucky University and currently attends Southern New Hampshire University where she is pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Mara resides in Kentucky with her boyfriend, their two dogs, and two rabbits. You can also find Mara’s articles on Cupid’s Pulse, where she has articles about celebrities and love.
When Mara isn’t working, studying, or chasing after pets, she loves to cuddle with her boyfriend on the couch to watch Netflix. She also has a love for reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Vampire Diaries as well as planning in her planners, knitting, or playing The Sims 4. Mara’s favorite authors include Nora Roberts, J.K. Rowling, Jasinda Wilder, Colleen Hoover, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Edgar Allen Poe, Sylvia Plath, Sarah J. Maas, and Abbi Glines. She’s super friendly on social media and loves hearing from readers.
